PhD from Hong Kong University, IEEE Fellow, IET Fellow. Since 1987, he has been with Southeast University, where he is currently a Professor with the School of Electrical Engineering, the Director of the Research Center for Wind Power Generation, and the Director of the Jiangsu Electrical Machines and Power Electronics League. He has served as the Chair and as an Organizing Committee member for many international conferences. He is a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Industry Applications Society for 2015–2016.

Research interests: Motor Drives for Electric Vehicles, Renewable Energy generation, as well as micro and special motor, and its measurement and control systems.
